Your stomach is a vital organ carrying out a critical process directly related to your health and well-being. As part of your digestive system, it must adapt to a wide variety of substances in which a person may indulge throughout the day.  When the stomach malfunctions, most people use a vague, catch-all term “stomach trouble.”

SYMPTOMS

Stomach trouble can include widely varying symptoms – vomiting, headaches, foul breath, burning pains, constipation, and loss of appetite. The list can go on and on.

NERVE IMPULSES

Nerve impulses control stomach function that it receives over the body’s intricate system of nerves. The stomach can function no better than the controlling nerve impulses it receives.  When “stomach trouble” exists, it may be because the nerve impulse supply to it has met with interference:

THE SUBLUXATION

Nerve interference usually takes place in the spine, from which nerve trunks emanate. Chiropractors call this interference a “subluxation” — where one or more of the spinal vertebrae has been slightly pulled out of its proper position. Subluxations can be due to an accident, muscular tension, even a slight jar or bump, which you may not have noticed when it happened. Where the misalignment occurs, the vertebrae produces an irritation to the nerve, which, in turn, distorts the impulse being sent over the nerve system.  It is this interference that eventually results in malfunction.

Often the physician will prescribe drugs that may relieve your symptoms temporarily or you may decide on a drug store preparation which promises relief.

FOR OPTIMUM HEALTH

A good path for optimum health is to visit a chiropractor regularly for a chiropractic adjustment — whether or not trouble is manifested as symptoms or bodily aches and pains. Subluxations that cause stomach trouble and other ailments can be detected very early often before symptoms are noticeable. If neglected, the condition may increase in severity. A visit to Dr. Miller at the first hint of “stomach trouble” — nausea, vomiting, lack of appetite, coated tongue, headache, disturbed bowel action — should result in your speedy recovery.
